FIVE NINETY-SEVEN Playing Cards

Five Ninety Seven Playing Cards were created for customers who need a high-quality deck of playing cards for every   day use. Practicality was our focus when designing this deck. 

The back design is what we’ve always imagined an every day Joker and the Thief deck to be like - stripped back and bold! Its vintage aesthetic is enticing and provides character. Number 597 refers to our Founder James’ lucky number 5, and his birth year 1997. It is also a nod to standard vintage decks that were allocated a number to their back design. The now out-of-print Steamboats were designated No. 999. This Joker and the Thief deck is allocated number 597.

Our insignia rests in the centre of the design, providing weight and presence. This simple design element adds a sense of weight to your Cardistry performances. It gives the eyes a reference point to track the cards as they move effortlessly between your hands. The borders are thick and distressed providing an extra edge of detail. 

To compliment the functional aesthetic, this deck is optimised for how it feels when you use it. It utilises our Crushed Performance Stock in tandem with our Linen Glide Finish. This results in a remarkably thin stock with superior handling, while retaining the durability our decks are known for.
